Day of the Dead is a popular and positive holiday in Latin America. Celebrated on November 1 and 2, it is a time to honor dead family members and to remember them in a happy light.
Many of the Day of the Dead images are original. Others are the work of Jose Guadalupe Posada (1856-1913), who was one of the first to use calaveras (skulls) in a variety of ways. Since then, many other artists have followed him.
