StampaFe Artists

Several of our stamps are by local and not so local artists. Below are brief biographies of the artists that we license work from.

 

Willard Clark

Perhaps our most well known artist, Willard Clark arrived in Santa Fe in 1928 on his way to California. He stopped to visit a friend and fell in love with Santa Fe. Educated in commercial art, he opened a print shop and soon began to carve images for his clients from end wood cuts. Willard ran his print shop for many years. During World War II, he went to work for Los Alamos Lab. Only after his retirement in the 1970s did he return to his printmaking. Willard died in 1992. Through arrangement with Willard Clark's family we are proud to license these iconic images of Santa Fe and New Mexico.

Jaye Oliver

A local graphic artist, Jaye has had many of her illustrations published over the years. We like her fresh approach to the southwest images that we have turned into rubber stamps. Jaye's web site is: http://jayeoliver.com/

Krissi Sandvik

Skelekitty was created by Krissi for a quilt project. Krissi is multimedia gal. We love this modern twist on the Day of the Dead theme that is so popular here in the Southwest. You can follow Krissi and see more of her other art work at: http://krissisandvik.blogspot.com/

Penny Baker

A local artist who shows her work in the Independent Artist Gallery (next door to Guadalupe's Fun Rubber Stamps), Penny works in a variety of media, from clay to beads to pen and ink. Her graphic black and white images make wonderful stamps.
