Fred B Mullett Workshops
Workshops at Guadalupe's Fun Rubber Stamps
Each workshop is $85 or all three for $190
Spritz Me, Baby… Mo’Bettah! Diffused Watercolor Effects
September 10, 9AM – Noon $85 Limited to 12
Finding merit in the “less is more” concept and the power of imprecision, this class focuses on the soluble properties of markers and other water-based media to achieve watercolor effects using rubber stamps. Bleaching out imagery on black paper, then re-introducing color with high contract accents is also tackled to achieve startling effects.
Workshop includes handouts and a large supply of instructor- provided supplies. Raincoats are optional. (Just kidding!)
Chlorine bleach is used in this class. Due to the caustic nature of this chemical, students are STRONGLY warned of the hazards! Suggested safety materials include – but not limited to – latex gloves, a work apron and eye protection. Remember to take care, and to look out for those around you and their property, and the property of the sponsoring institution for this class.
What to Bring
In addition to the above safety items bring your favorite broad-tipped water-based markers in a wide range of values (light, medium, and dark). Your favorite Fred B. Mullett stamps, though many will be provided.
Fred B. and his Dancing Rubber Fish – Advanced Embossing Techniques
September 10, 1-4 PM $85 Limited to 12
Expanding the methods of multi-color printing with multi-color embossing and watercolor additions, this class is geared toward the experienced student, though could be a sink or swim lesson for beginners. (There will also be a short demonstration on how to make colored transparent powders using alcohol inks.) Includes handouts and instructor-provided supplies.
What to Bring
Most materials will be provided. You may bring your favorite stamps to use at the end of the class.
The Elegant Mess
September 11, 9AM – Noon, $85, Limited to 12
A veritable food fight of a class! Where the spontaneous meets the specific. Where the positive meets the negative/ And where leftovers go to play. We will fiddle around with principles of figure/ground relationships as we integrate sprayed color washes and splattered paint, collage, stencils, and stamps on Oriental and watercolor paper with remarkable results. Suitable for small or large format work, this visual playtime will add miles to artistic efforts! Includes handouts and a large supply of instructor-provided supplies.

Class Menu
Over time we have discovered that many of our students
are visitors to Santa Fe and as a result, we have changed our class
offerings. Instead of us setting the date and time for class you get
to do that.
Choose from the offerings below or discuss your concept with us and
we’ll do the class for you alone or for you and a group of friends.
We ask that you give us at least five days notice so we have time prepare
for the class. All classes run approximately 2 hours.
Call 505-982-9862 between 10AM and 5:30PM weekdays to schedule a class.
As always, you will need to bring your basic tool kit with you. A basic
tool kit includes scissors, metal straight edge, pencil, markers, your
favorite stamps and inks, a cutting surface, X-acto knife or similar
and anything else you feel you must have to make art.
